AND ITS TYPES
Interview is a process
by which the interviewer comes to know about the potential of the candidate to
decide whether he is fit for a particular job. On the other side, the candidate
comes to know the facts about the institution in which he is going to work and
as an aspirant what is needed from him for the particular job.
TYPES OF INTERVIEWS
On the basic level, we
have two types of interviews – Direct Interviews and Indirect Interviews. Under
these two, we have several types. Some important types of interviews that are
used now are

Online/
Video Conferencing Interview.
1.
One on One or Face to Face Interview
In this type of Interview, One candidate faces One Interviewer
face to face. The interviewer will ask questions and the candidate will be
giving answers.
2.
Group Interview
In Group Interview, a group of candidates face one interviewer.
Normally a group activity like Group Discussion will be given and based on
their performance the candidates will be selected for personal interview.
3.
Panel Interview
The Panel Interview is different from the Group Interview in the
way that a Panel (Group) of examiners (interviewers) will be questioning one
candidate.
4.
Screening Interview
The Screening Interview is normally used to screen candidates
when a larger number of applicants apply for a limited number of posts. The
Screening may be done in the form of a written examination, an additional
qualification, some experience or something like that.
5.
Luncheon Interview
This is a social interview in which the candidate will be tested
in the midst of the society maybe in a restaurant, hotel or something like
that. Normally the social behaviour of the candidate will be examined.
6.
Telephonic Interview
Telephonic interview is normally used as a screening interview.
Normally this will be followed with the personal interview.
7.
Online/ Video Conferencing Interview
When a candidate is not available for a normal interview
session, either he may be engaged in some other work or maybe abroad. Such
candidates will be interviewed through the Online mode or through Video
Conferencing.
